Registering for the Be The Match Registry simply means you are making yourself available to patients who might one day need you. If you are between the ages of 18 to 44, patients need you!
Registering only takes about 10 minutes and consists of filling out paper work and swabbing your cheeks. The swabs collect DNA samples that will be used for human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing. Once you’ve been added to the Registry, it is important to keep us updated on any changes to your contact information. Please call (210) 731-5513 if your phone number, email or address changes so that we may get in touch with you if you are a match for someone in need.
The Be The Match Program of Central and South Texas hosts registrations drives throughout the South Texas area and frequently special events are held to promote awareness about the urgent need for more potential donors. Registration packets are also available at any STBTC neighborhood donor room. Click here for a list of locations or call (210) 731-5513 to request a packet.
