Saturn Sweetheart: Seeking a bone marrow donor.

Kathy is a beautiful, smart, friendly 19-year-old whose outstanding grades earned her scholarship to Texas A&M. But just as she was packing her college gear, giggling with friends over the excitement of college life and putting together an academic plan that would lead to a career in science and medicine, Kathy was felled by a relapse of acute lymphocytic leukemia that first turned her world upside down at age 16

When she began chemotherapy, she went into remission and was able to continue her high school studies. But the 2005 replapse forced her to postpone her college plans and resume chemotherapy. Once again, she launched into remission. But she suffered set backs and ended up in ICU between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Kathy is one of 35,000 patients in the U.S. diagnosed with life-threatening diseases, like leukemia.
