“God has a plan for me ”

After a decade of battling serious health problems associated with congestive heart failure, Zeke Arguello received the answer to his prayers in the form of a new heart  .“I used 17 units of blood during my transplant surgery and I know patients who have used 40 and 70 units. It’s so easy to be a blood donor … and those who receive blood transfusions are very grateful.”

He now embarks on a mission to encourage everyone he meets to become blood donors. He participates in wellness fairs where he talks to people about the critical need for donating blood, tissue and organs.

Zeke says he will continue to help others. “God has a plan for me.” It’s his way of repaying the 27-year-old man who donated his heart and the 17 strangers who gave blood for the procedure that saved his life.
