South Texas Blood & Tissue Center Volunteers Give from the Heart

Join a dedicated group of individuals who are contributing time and energy to a lifesaving cause. STBTC volunteers assist throughout the entire blood center and mobile blood drives. Orientation and training are provided.  Volunteers need to be at least 16 years of age.

In 2006, 206 volunteers served 11,300 hours. Many came from technical schools, colleges and universities - a unique partnership that benefis STBTC and the schools that grant community service credits to the student volunteers.

STBTC has expanded the Volunteer Program and our team is eager to recruit and retain volunteers who are willing to commit their time, enthusiasm and skills to help our community.  STBTC has many volunteer opportunities that could provide intern and extern students the ability to accomplish their goals by providing non-paid services for invaluable work experience that will be gratifying as well as educational. As STBTC continues its journey in meeting the community blood supply needs, we have found that volunteering is a great opportunity to help our community and give students the training needed for today’s challenging work force.
